Maybe I was never meant to climb the hill of difficulty.

Maybe I was never meant to climb the hill of difficulty, but rather find the road of pleasure and abundance.

For years I believed that the path of purity laid before me was equivalent to that of Christian’s from John Bunyan’s PILGRIM’S PROGRESS. I was taught that as I continued on my way in life I would reach the “Hill of Difficulty”; or temptation, or desire, or lust. It was my responsibility to choose the straight and narrow path. This was the right and holy thing and I should trust God to bless my obedience.

Well, plot twist, I was NOT blessed. I was abused, manipulated, and traumatized.

I have since learned to value discernment over blind obedience, and my life is much richer, safer, more fulfilled.

What did you / do you believe about purity? I’d love to know how our different belief systems shaped who we are today!

If you are struggling to unpack the purity values that were instilled in you as a child, and that path that was set before you, please join my PLEASURE FOR PURITY CULTURE SURVIVORS course that launches one week from today!
